Messenger Kids: Adding Friends for Your Child

As a parent or guardian, you want to ensure that your child's online experience is safe and enjoyable. One of the ways to achieve this is by allowing them to connect with more friends on Messenger Kids. In this feature, you can make your child's profile visible to others when activated, and their parent/guardian will receive an invitation on their behalf.

To add friends for your child, follow these simple steps:

1. Select 'choose contact' to add a person or click 'next' to remove them.

2. Choose 'Messenger Kids' from the options available.

3. Navigate to 'news feeds' and 'explore.'

4. Select 'remove' to remove the contact.

Alternatively, you can also manage your child's contacts through the Facebook desktop site or the Parent Dashboard on your Facebook app. To do this:

1. Tap 'Choose people' to add a contact for your child.

2. Select your child's account and select 'contacts.'

3. Open the Facebook app and go to the menu at the top right.

4. You can add or remove contacts to your child's account through the Parent Dashboard.

When setting up friending options, you have two choices:

1. Only I can choose friends: This option allows only you or the other parent/guardian (if applicable) to add and remove friends from the Parent Dashboard.

2. My child can choose friends: With this option, your child can add and remove friends from their friend list, and you'll be notified every time.

As a supervising adult, you have control over how your child interacts with others online. You can manage your child's contacts through the dashboard, including supervising friending, removing contacts, and helping them connect with more friends.

By following these steps and setting up the right friending options, you can ensure that your child has a safe and enjoyable experience on Messenger Kids.
